What if Halloween weekend came with costumes, candy, tubing and snow?

For the first time ever, Sugar Rush Tubing is firing up the SnowFactory for Tube-or-Treat, a Halloween weekend on snow at Sugar Bowl.

Spend Halloween Day tubing, grooving to a DJ, collecting treats and showing off your best costume. Then come back Sunday for one more bonus day on snow.

Yes, you read that right. Snow tubing in Tahoe in October.

We’re dressing up as winter this Halloween. Come join the party.

Saturday, October 31: Tubing + All-Day Halloween Bash

Spend the day racing down the tubing lanes, dancing to the DJ, collecting treats and showing off your best costume during our first-ever Tube-or-Treat Halloween Bash.

Expect a full day of Halloween fun including:

Snow Tubing • DJ • Trick-or-Treating • Cocktails • Costume Contest

Two-hour tubing sessions are available throughout the day from 10am–4pm for just $25 per person.

Costumes are encouraged. Snow boots are a great idea too.

Sunday, November 1: One More Day on Snow

Not ready for Halloween weekend to end? Neither are we.

Sugar Rush will reopen Sunday for another full day of tubing on Donner Summit. Grab a two-hour session and squeeze one more day on snow for the weekend.

Can You Really Snow Tube in Tahoe in October?

Yes. Conditions permitting, Sugar Rush will have snow on the ground for Halloween weekend thanks to our SnowFactory.

Unlike conventional snowmaking systems that require cold temperatures, the SnowFactory can produce snow even when outside temperatures are well above freezing.

That means our tubing team can start building a snow base during the variable temperatures of fall and early winter, giving us the chance to get Sugar Rush sliding before Mother Nature fully flips the switch to winter.

Think of it as a little Halloween magic, with a lot of machinery behind it.

How Does the Sugar Rush SnowFactory Work?

The SnowFactory produces snow inside a refrigerated system instead of relying entirely on freezing outside temperatures. Snow is created inside the machine, pumped outside and then spread across the tubing hill by our team.

The result? Snow on Donner Summit before winter officially arrives.

What Is Tube-or-Treat at Sugar Bowl?

Tube-or-Treat is Sugar Bowl’s new Halloween weekend celebration at Sugar Rush Tubing on Donner Summit, happening October 31 and November 1, 2026.

Halloween Saturday includes:

• Snow tubing
• A DJ
• Trick-or-treating
• A costume contest
• Cocktails
• Halloween festivities

Then we’ll keep the snow sliding Sunday with another full day of tubing.

And most importantly, it’s an excuse to start playing in the snow before October is even over.

Halloween Tubing Tickets

Special Tube-or-Treat tubing sessions on Saturday and Sunday are $25 per person for a two-hour session.

Tubers must be at least 42 inches tall.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended. This is the first Tube-or-Treat weekend at Sugar Rush, and tubing capacity is limited for each session.

Keep Tubing Through November

Halloween weekend is only the beginning.

Conditions permitting, Sugar Rush Tubing will continue operating Saturdays and Sundays throughout November, with two-hour sessions available for $50 per person.

So while the lifts are getting ready for winter, you can already be sliding on snow.
