SUMMARY:  If you’re an eager and experienced marketer who loves the mountain lifestyle and can share skier/snowboarder stoke to the world, then this job might be for you. You’ll develop written and digital content for the resort website and e-newsletters, to cross-sell resort business units. You’ll steward the company’s social media presence by posting amazing content, planning future postings, and generating new ideas that promote, inform, and inspire. You’ll plan and execute a small roster of on-mountain events. You’ll answer questions from customers that arrive via email and social media. You’ll write and gather photos for a blog post. And you’ll finish the day with some wild & crazy Sierra storminess and fun times with coworkers who share the same drive to safely work hard and play hard in our legendary deep snow.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: The ideal person for this position likes to roll-up the sleeves and dive deep into a variety of day-to-day marketing and communications tasks. The preferred candidate will have a “no job is too small” attitude while working in a team environment to advance the company’s objectives. S/he is an excellent writer, communicator and analyst, and has a passion for the mountain lifestyle with these specific attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, Business, PR, or Communications preferred
  • At least 3 years of previous resort and/or marketing office experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; copywriting, journalism, or e-newsletter experience a plus
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and Adobe Suite, particularly Photoshop
  • Simple photography and videography skills
  • Experience with email marketing and basic HTML/CSS skills is a plus
  • Up-to-date knowledge across social networks; Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, including best practices for each platform
  • Familiarity with social media tracking and application tools such as Facebook Business Manager, Metricool, Hootsuite, etc.
  • Comfortable working on deadline
  • Trained in customer service skills and techniques
  • Some experience with or ability to quickly learn RTP point of sale, Inntopia customer database, and Acoustic.
  • Embraces a culture of protecting health and safety as a top priority
  • Resourceful and organized self-starter who embraces a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment and can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

  • Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level
  • Able to productively and efficiently work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather, including severe winter conditions in a deep snow environment
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and be in good physical condition


Content Creation and Distribution

  • Write copy, develop creative content (working in conjunction with photo/video content producer and graphic designer), organize assets and execute promotions across all communication platforms (website, email, blog, social media) to tell compelling stories that connect the resort and its business units to the overall customer experience
  • Develop web content for SEO organic reach
  • Develop content strategies that support the company’s promotional, informational, inspirational and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) goals, using the best optimization strategies for each platform
  • Maintain a content calendar that optimizes plans per platform
  • Develop relationships with other departments to leverage communication platforms to assist with their departmental goals
  • Engage with athletes and resort partners to maximize cross-promotion and extend storytelling reach
  • Review and respond to comments/engagements/messages across all platforms
  • Monitor social media industry trends and related ski resort businesses; research, evaluate and recommend social media strategies and opportunities
  • Track effectivenes

Event Programming

  • Work with Event Coordinator for all on-mountain winter event planning; hold planning meetings with relevant personnel, liaise with vendors, partners, and internal department heads during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order
  • Communicate event specifics internally; work with marketing department teammates to develop and execute event promotion plans
  • Assist Event Coordinator with all event set-up, tear down and follow-up processes; identify additional personnel support needs to ensure successful event execution
  • Assess each event’s overall success; document findings and recommend future improvements.

Customer Relations

  • Act as the marketing department’s primary customer relationship representative
  • Maintain working knowledge of all customer-specific policies, such as health and safety regulations, cancelations and product-specific “need to know” information
  • Answer phone calls, check and respond to voice mail messages
  • Respond to inquiries from social media messages
  • Work with marketing team and other department managers to develop a library of proper responses to frequently asked questions; communicate internally to educate other departments on the proper responses
  • Update customer information as needed in customer databases
  • Sell, fulfill, return, and refund products as needed using the company’s point of sale system
  • Become a knowledgeable user and skilled troubleshooter of the company’s e-commerce store; patiently coach customers through the online process when necessary
  • Monitor internal Guest Research NPS scores
  • Handle guest issues in a courteous and professional manner


  • Assist with on-mountain photo/video shoots, behind and in front of the lens
  • Assist with website updates and email marketing
  • Act as primary liaison with third party ticket sales vendor; coordinate ticket voucher creation and distribution
  • Report snow conditions each afternoon and occasionally in the morning as needed; provide backup support to morning snow reporters
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other departments


  • Full-time, 9-month seasonal position
  • Mid July – Mid April, winter operations permitting


  • $23-$25/hour depending on experience
