(Donner Summit, CA) – In their continued effort to deliver the highest quality children’s ski school lessons, Sugar Bowl has announced a new Signature Series program in which class sizes will be capped to ensure maximum learning stemming from a lower student-to-instructor ratio. Embracing an overall bear theme which stems from extensive user group focus studies involving kids age four to 12, the Signature programs will encompass the following lesson classifications:
SUGAR BEARS: Ages 3 – 5, full or half day. Available 7 days a week in the Village, and weekends and holidays in the Mountain Sports Learning Center at Mt, Judah. The full day program includes ski lessons, rentals, indoor activities, snacks and quiet time. Full day is 8:30 to 4:30 and is $130 which includes lunch. Half day is either mornings from 8:30 to noon or 1:00 to 4:30 and is $90, no lunch included. All children must be toilet trained and a change of clothes is recommended.
POWDER CUBS: Ages four to 6, full-day with a guaranteed class size of three. A continuation of the popular Sugar Bears program, Powder Cubs is for kids ready for a little more on-hill challenge. The full-day package includes lessons, lift ticket, rentals, and a supervised lunch. Drop off is from 8:00 to 9:00 and pick up is from 3:30 to 3:45. The lesson includes indoor ski orientation, training, tips and techniques. The full-day program is $170 with a supervised lunch included, and advanced reservations are strongly recommended.
BLACK BEAR ADVENTURES: Ages seven to 12, full-day package with a guaranteed maximum class size of seven. Designed to take the little skier to the next level, Black Bear Adventures still delivers fun with an all-day outing on the mountain. Full day with lessons, rentals, lift ticket and lunch, this class is $170 with advanced reservations strongly recommended.
Mike Iman, director of Mountain Sports Learning Center at Sugar Bowl, says this is the culmination of many seasons’ ideas and efforts, and expects to see ample turnout with quality results. “While we’re excited to offer the programs, I think it’s the kids who will truly be blown away. The reduced class sizes will greatly impact our ability to help these little skiers progress to the next level.”
