The Scoop on Grooming

As an employee of Sugar Bowl your appearance reflects on the entire team. It is our goal to maintain our conservative, pleasant atmosphere. For that reason all employees must maintain the neat, clean appearance required at the time they process in. Sugar Bowl does not allow faddish fashion appearance, hairstyle, dress, or body/facial ornamentation or piercing. Additional restrictions may apply as set by each individual department.

Hair:
Hair must be a natural color and kept neatly groomed at all times. Hair must be kept out of the face and not standing out more than 3 inches from the head. Men’s hair may not be longer than bottom of collar length. Men may not have ponytails. Some departments such as Food & Beverage and Hotel may require that their employees keep their hair tied back, away from the face and off the shoulders. No dreadlocks are allowed.

Facial Hair:
Full beards are not allowed. However, any facial hair within the goatee area is permissible as long as it is fully grown by the time the employee begins working at Sugar Bowl. Facial hair may not be more than 1/2 inch long at the bottom and the area under the chin must be shaved. Sideburns must not extend beyond the ear lobe or into the face. All skin surrounding any facial hair must always be clean-shaven.

Piercing and Jewelry:
Visible body or facial piercing is not allowed other than earrings. Men may wear one stud earring per ear – other earrings such as hoops or plugs are not allowed. Women may wear up to three earrings per ear. As a general rule, jewelry should be kept to a minimum and may be restricted according to your job duties.

Your supervisor and the Human Resources Department will enforce the grooming policy.
