Looking to take your skiing or riding to the next level? Then you have come to the right place! The Sugar Bowl Mountain Sports Learning Center has top notch instructors and multi-day clinics to help you improve in powder, steeps, bumps or groomers. We also offer several specialty clinics designed just for women with top notch nationally renowned female instructors. Looking for the ultimate back country experience? How about a day of private coaching with skiing legend Eric DesLauriers? We also have a great program for you to learn to be an instructor or at least ski or ride like the pros. So whether you are looking to learn a switch 720 or for a back country safety lesson we offer specialty coaching and clinics to take you to the next level!

Sugar Bowl’s Mountain Sports Learning Center (MSLC) is offering three 2-day camps with focus specially designed for active, energetic women who are eager to improve their skiing and snowboarding skills.

Sugar Bowl's women's clinic is geared to those with prior ski or snowboard experience who are looking to build their confidence. Each day will be designed to help take you to the next level, all while enjoying a day out with the girls.

Each day clinic includes a morning yoga session, 4 hours of on-the-snow training with Sugar Bowl’s top female certified instructors, lunch, wine tasting & massages. This program will challenge you, improve your performance, and will be tailored to the participants needs for that session. A special thanks goes out to Selby Wines for providing all of the wine for the afternoon tasting session. Find out more about Selby Wines.

Cost: $170/day or $320 for both days
There is a $50 deposit required.

Pre-Registration is required to reserve your spot.Please call 530-426-6700 for more information on the 2008/09 camps. Registration deadline is 3 days prior to start of camp. Ladies must be 16 and over and at an intermediate level of skiing or boarding. Space is limited for maximum personal focus.

  • 8:30-9:15 Warm up with a morning Yoga session

Sugar Bowl may cancel event due to lack of snow, weather, or less than a minimum number participants at their discretion. Guests will have option to participate in alternate camp.

Ultimate Ski Adventure
Take Your Skiing & Riding To The Next Level
Sugar Bowls Mountain Sports Learning Center (MSLC) would like to invite all snow riders from intermediate cruisers to Expert Extreme to come on the Ultimate Ski Adventure (USA). For twelve Saturdays, come explore Sugar Bowls four peaks for three hours, guided by members of the MSLC coaching staff. Along the way of this ski adventure, you will get valuable tips to improve your skiing. The tradition of USA has formed many new friendships over the seasons and support for improvements in ones riding. Above all, it is a wonderful and fun way to ski at Sugar Bowl.

The Ultimate Ski Adventure Starts December 27, 2008 and concludes March 21, 2009. USA is for Intermediate to Advance Snow Riders. The Adventure is a $475.00 option on your 2007/ 2008 season pass for all twelve weeks. If it is a problem to make all the weeks, season pass holders may take part in the fun $60.00 Per Day.

NASTC Clinics

NASTC’s LUNA Chix Slow Food/Fast Skiing, Sugarbowl, CA. January, 11-12
This course is a unique fusion of avant-garde culinary culture with finest level of ski instruction. It is a two-day excursion of indulgence; we are bringing you the best from both the ski world and the culinary world. During this course, you will spend two full days working with one of the NASTC LUNA Chix trainers and receive personalized coaching to take your skiing and confidence to new heights. Additionally you will be treated to a sumptuous dinner prepared in the Slow Food method by owner and chef Billy McCullough of Dragonfly Cuisine, Truckee. Slow Food is a movement that focuses on producing good quality food in an organic and sustainable manner. NASTC advocates Slow Food philosophy and practices as part of the path to a healthy and active lifestyle.

  • Open to skiers levels 6-9
  • Includes: lift tickets, instruction with video review & tech talks and 1 dinner

Sunday, January 11

SAMPLE TRAINING DAY
  • 8:30am: Orientation, split into your groups and go over day's schedule and goals.
  • 9:00am: Head to the lifts & begin skill development via drills & technique work
  • 12:30pm: Lunch with group on hill
  • 1:30pm: Continued on-hill training, video, free-skiing varying conditions & terrain
  • 4:30pm: Indoor clinic: video viewing / technical session (all tech talks are optional)
  • 6:30pm Dinner out with group (all dinners are optional)
Our schedule will vary day to day depending upon snow conditions, conditions and desires of your group, and your group's general progression and improvement. Throughout the week there will be video/video analysis, an indoor technical session, group dinners, and personal skiing evaluations.

Eric DesLaurers and All Mountain Ski Pros will offer ski lessons, multi-day clinics and backcountry guiding (through partner Alpine Skills International) to intermediate and advanced skiers at Sugar Bowl Resort. Top coaching professionals specially trained by world class all mountain free skier Eric DesLauriers. Eric's innovative teaching approach maximizes today's modern ski designs and simplifies ski techniques to move skiers beyond the confines of groomed runs. "Our goal at All Mountain Ski Pros is to teach you the simple skills to ski well in all terrain and snow conditions, so you can welcome the challenge of the mountains with freedom and confidence," says director, Eric DesLauriers.
