Billie Cornell
Entering my 11th season as a PSIA certified ski instructor at Sugar Bowl, I have been instrumental in coordinating and acting as one of the coaches for the Learn With the Ladies clinic days as they now enter their third season. The adrenal rush and excitement generated by the ladies from their skiing and snowboarding accomplishments, together with the camaraderie of the participants and fellow instructors alike, has encouraged me to want to continue the tradition for another season. Through the unprecedented cooperation of several departments here at Sugar Bowl, we hope to make this season's camp dates unsurpassed.
I began my love of the sport as a professional in 1994 when my husband, Bruce and I moved to Truckee from Southern California. I began my teaching career as an adaptive ski instructor at Alpine Meadows earning my PSIA Level 2 Adaptive Certification. I am a current Adaptive Tech Team member and have held a board position on the PSIA-West Adaptive Committee. There are six adaptive disciplines covering adaptation of equipment to fit a student's ability who may have a visual impairment, an inability to walk, who may be missing one or all limbs, or have difficulty to express themselves or to react with appropriate social interaction or reactions.

In 1998 I came to Sugar Bowl to expand my ski coaching experiences and earned my Level 2 Alpine certification in 1999. As myself and the population on the slopes continue to mature, last season I obtained my Senior Level 2 Accreditation.

I have traveled to Korea twice to teach the Korean adaptive students and to help train their ski instructors. I have trained adaptive instructors at Mt. Bachelor in Oregon in addition to the many volunteers and instructors at the adaptive school at Alpine Meadows. In addition to adaptive lessons, my regular nitch are private-request lessons together with coaching the women's group.

All of my snowsport experiences have had a profound impact on me personally to enrich my life to its fullest. Words can never express how it makes me feel when I see the smiles, hear the thrills, and am provided the endless "thank you" from my students knowing that "I've made a difference."

I hope you will be able to join us this season to Learn with the Ladies.
